Not entirely sure since I died on fos-ff, but the domain name probably expired.
If/When it will return(s)... I have no idea.

It's back to not working. I'm new there, but I've been on other sites a long time. I think I missed a maintenance email by a day or two, but if you know what that's about/how long it will last, please let me know.

I'm sure it'll be back, I'm just not sure when...
A while ago, Idaten posted a little something about the site going through the process an upgrade, and that people should save a copy of their fics? I'm not sure, don't panic, it's just what I'm remembering.
I've also lurked the fos-ff livejournal community and found this topic and someone's said they found this,
"This means FOSFF and the forum will be down while this upgrade takes place. Good news is that it shouldn't be down for long and this upgrade should increase ..."
Apparently, it was cut off there, but I'm sure 75% that fos-ff will be back soon.

Thanks! I joined the day before it went down, so the memo went out before I got there.

Actually I googled what that person saw on FOSFF, it was actually a post Idaten had made many months ago, and was actually three or two posts ago. So the upgrade HAD already taken place. :/
IDK what happened to the site but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the upgrade that was mentioned, it looks like to me that the host either suspended that site, she left it, or forgot to pay it. *shrugs*

There was major mod/validation activity on and off the forums the day I joined...hopefully this isn't permanent. I found stories on there for fandoms Lunaescence and FF don't have or don't have many of. There's a decent Sherlock Holmes section, for instance. Here, there's one single-chapter. They also have a M*A*S*H category and a Navy NCIS category with a lot in it (ours is there but has no stories). It's not that I'd post fanfiction...it's that that's just about all the fanfiction I'd be interested in reading, and, from the scanning I did, it looks...looked to be well-written.
I hope it comes back...I read half a mystery...now I wanna know how it ends.

Is it just me or is the site down again?
I've been getting this:
Forbidden

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I've been getting that same, too. At first I thought it was just my connection, but seems like it wasn't. o___o I really hope these problems go away soon -__-

Yep, I can speak on behalf of myself and two other authors that we're also getting the 403 forbidden error.
I wonder if this might be like the last issue where the host company/provider took the site down/had connection issues.
I know Idaten has been working hard to get things fixed with them, so its possible that they're trying to patch the issues we have and its not going so well.
I just wished we users might get a quick e-mail or something filling us in with a little detail. :/

I agree. Sending an email would be easier.
I was searching through Google about the 403 error.
403 Forbidden is the HTTP status code produced by a web server when you are not permitted to access a particular URL. Usually a 403 Forbidden error means that the page in question does exist but cannot be accessed by you.
Some websites are locked down so that only those on the local company or school network can access parts of the site. You will often see 403 Forbidden errors when browsing such sites from "off-campus."
Sometimes webmasters try to set up dynamic web programming features like PHP or Perl/CGI but fail to do so correctly. This can also result in 403 Forbidden errors until the web server is correctly configured.
403 Forbidden can appear in other situations at the discretion of the webmaster, so you may see it in scenarios other than these.
I really hope that it's the latter. And if it is I wish they would've informed us before locking the site.
